Estheticians in High Demand as Skincare Interest Soars
Licensed estheticians across Arkansas are reporting packed schedules as interest in professional skincare treatments climbs among clients of all ages.
Estheticians said demand has grown for facials, chemical peels, and personalized skincare guidance, driven partly by social media and a broader focus on skin health. Clients increasingly seek professional advice rather than piecing together routines from online trends.
The surge has made esthetics a promising career path, with graduates finding work at spas, salons, and medical offices, or building independent practices. Instructors said enrollment in esthetics programs has risen alongside the demand.
Professionals cautioned clients to be wary of viral skincare fads, some of which can irritate or damage skin. A trained esthetician, they said, can tailor treatments to individual skin types and steer clients away from products and practices that do more harm than good.
